DRILL & INTERMEDIATE OBEDIENCE

Hard-working students in Carol Tilton's Intermediate Obedience Class (Mission Viejo)

For those who have successfully completed a Beginning or Novice Obedience class, our next-level classes offer the opportunity to improve basic obedience skills, as well as take on new exercises and challenges. Students "review and polish" the Heel, Sit, Down, Recall, and Stay exercises, and focus on developing reliable 30 ft Stays and 30 ft Recalls. New exercises may include Drop on Recall, and longer duration Sit-Stay and Down-Stay out of sight. Hand signal work and continuing socialization and exposure to distractions in a group setting are mainstays of these classes. Students may also progress to off-leash training as their skills improve. Our 5-week "post-graduate" class will be helpful to handlers interested in preparing for obedience competition, pet therapy programs, or "Canine Good Citizen" certification.
